Indeed it has been argued that the Republicans raise money to benefit big businesses and the wealthy.The Democrats raise taxes to f und social programs that are aimed at raising living standards of the general public (Scharpf, 2015). They believe that the government should subsidize services that are essential for the running of cities, states and the entire country. They advocate for tax cuts for the middle class with the aim of offering relief to workers in different sectors of the economy and their families. The Green party on the other hand is of the view that progressive taxation as a matter of principle. Their belief in anchored on the fact that those who benefit most from the government system have the responsibility to return more (Folke, 2014).
